Important Update from Dr. Mark Jobe about Fall Semester
As you may know, the Democratic National Convention (DNC) will be taking place Monday, August 19 – Thursday, August 22, in Chicago at the United Center, which is several miles from campus. City leadership has notified us as well as other area colleges that there will be a significant disruption in traffic flow in and out of the city. We are also concerned about the availability and affordability of hotel accommodations during the week of the convention.
For Chicago Campus Students
Because we are committed to providing the best experience for our Chicago campus students, we have prayerfully decided to slightly delay move-in, orientation, and the first day of classes until after the DNC has concluded. For Employees:
During the convention week (August 19 – 23) the Chicago campus will remain open, but we are asking non-essential employees to work remotely. Please be sure to check with your supervisor to determine whether or not you need to report to campus.
We are blessed to have a close, working relationship with the Chicago Police Department and city officials and will keep the Moody family updated if there are any updates. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we seek to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and terrific start to our fall semester!
